Minute Bomb

Kingdom Hearts II
When attacked, it counts down for self-detonation. Use Dodge Roll seconds before the explosion to lure surrounding enemies into it.

To play it safe, parry its tackles to make it lose its will to fight.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Prone to self-detonation, these small Heartless will begin a countdown to explosion if you deflect their head-butts with a block.
They can also be detonated on the spot using Fire magic.

The Minute Bomb is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

[edit] Design

A Minute Bomb has a thin, armless body with short, thin legs without feet. Its head is spherical and is blue, the same color as its body. Its head it covered by two halves of a dark brown shell resembling a stereotypical bomb. A large, jagged opening around the middle of the shell exposes the Heartless's glowing, yellow eyes. The top half of the bomb shell sports a long, white fuse. Its Heartless emblem is present on the front of the top half of the shell.

In Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, the Minute Bomb's body is black, its shell is white, and its fuse is red.

The Minute Bomb's name obviously refers to its explosive attack method and resemblance to stereotypical bombs. "Minute" could refer to its rather small size, or to the time measurement "minute", which could refer to its fuse, though the Heartless itself detonates far faster than one minute.

[edit] Strategy

Although these Heartless are easily ignored, they have only one attack besides their self-destruction. They will send themselves into a straight line head butt. Use Guard and you will block the attack, plus break their skull cap. This will make them stand still for the rest of the battle and they will not attack nor use their explosion. If you do not block the head butt, it will not damage you that much. If it does use its self-destruct, wait for the Reaction Command Dodge Roll.

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, however, they will start to detonate if their Head-Butts are guarded. Also, if a character uses fire attacks or magics, it will immediately explode. If the Minute bomb uses its self-destruct, it will be still and can be moved by hitting it. If the Minute Bomb is frozen while the countdown is going, the countdown stops. Its self-destruction also deals damage to other Heartless as well.

[edit] Attacks

  • Bullet Head-Butt: Shoots forward head-first.
  • Self-Destruct: Kingdom Hearts II: Nine counts, then explodes. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days: 3 counts, then explodes.
